Is this you?

You've built a capable team. But when it gets hard, it still comes back to you. Decisions wait until you're back. The plan gets played when you're in the room and drifts when you're not.

That isn't a people problem. It's capacity, and it can be built.

Why me

For twelve years I've led thousands of people into places they weren't sure they could handle. Not athletes. Ordinary people: tired, scared, out of their depth, sometimes resentful about being there at all. I've watched what happens to a group when the plan changes, when someone can't keep up, when it rains on day two. Who steps up, who goes quiet, who takes over, who finally asks for help. And I've learned how to turn that into a group that looks after each other and gets to the end.

Before that I spent a decade changing people's behaviour for a living, which taught me that knowing what to do and doing it under pressure are two different problems. Then I went back to university and did a master's in applied positive psychology to understand why what I was seeing on the trail worked.

That's what I bring into a workplace. Not a theory about leadership. Twenty years of watching people under real pressure, the science that explains it, and a way of putting a team in front of the real thing so they can see themselves.

One story, three parts

Everything I do comes from the same place: real groups, real challenge, and finding out what actually works.

The field

Take Shape Adventures

Twelve years and thousands of ordinary people led through real challenge. A seven-figure business built on the trail.

The programs

Impact Adventures

Leadership programs for teams, built on what the field taught me and measured before and after.

The evidence

Positive Outdoor Institute

Where what we see in the field becomes research, so the work keeps getting sharper.

Two ways to work with me

For you

Executive coaching

One to one for founders and CEOs. We walk and we talk, because people think more clearly outdoors than across a desk. We work on how you lead when it gets hard: what you hold onto, what you hand over, and how your team keeps moving when you're not in the room.

Map. Where you actually are, not where you say you are.

Build. Real decisions, worked through as they happen, walking where we can.

Hold. What lasts after we stop, tested against where you started.

Six to twelve months. I take a small number of coaching clients at a time.

For your team

Leading Through Challenge

For a leader and their team. Your team works on real situations from your own business, practises leading through them, and takes it straight back to work.

2-hour session Half or full day Six weeks

Measured before, after and four weeks later, so you see what changed.

Not ready for that yet? Start with a team day outdoors.

How I work

A group's boots in a circle on the trail

Real situations, not role plays

We work on what's in front of your team now.

Outdoors, on purpose

The body learns under pressure what a slide can't teach.

Measured

Before, after and four weeks later, so you see what changed instead of guessing.

“I have sat beside Tracey in the room with executive teams, and what she does is genuinely rare. She reads a senior group under pressure faster than anyone I have worked with, and she holds leaders to a standard most facilitators are too polite to ask for, with enough warmth that they thank her for it afterwards. The combination of real business experience, serious evidence, and the outdoors as her working medium does not exist anywhere else I have seen.”

Strategy Facilitator
“Working with Tracey and Adrian was a genuinely great experience for our team. Getting out of our everyday environment meant connecting on a deeper level, and it created space to shift perspectives on how we build capacity to thrive through challenges. The focus moved from me to we, and that shifted how we solve problems. The team loved being outdoors and having fun whilst learning. I'd recommend Tracey and the team to anyone who wants to build capacity and wellbeing with their team.”

Speaking, research and conversations

I speak to leadership teams, conferences and industry groups about what twenty years in the field has taught me about people under pressure.

Talks

Teams that hold together when it gets hard

Stress is inevitable. Growing through it is a skill.

The person at the back of the group: what leading ordinary people taught me about leadership

I'm also open to

Podcasts and panels on leadership, pressure and how people grow through challenge.

Research partnerships with universities studying what happens to people in real challenge, through the Positive Outdoor Institute.

Working with coaches, HR consultants and facilitators who want to bring this work to their own clients.

Work with me

I'm taking five leadership teams into a half-day pilot at $3,500 plus GST. The usual rate from mid 2027 is $6,500.

I keep set times each week for calls with leaders. Pick one that suits you.
